Cavalla Crew Interview

Werner "Bill" Friedman

Next to the damaged sail My time aboard Cavalla was relatively short, but she holds a special place in my heart, because she was my first qualifying boat. These pictures were taken en route to and moored in Argentia, New Foundland. We had just completed an arduous patrol (58 days submerged) in the North Atlantic. Storms and rough seas caused the damage to the starboard side of our sail. That’s me, when I was about 28 years old standing along side the damaged sail.

The sub we are tied up outboard of is the USS Blenny SS-324. She was also a part of SUBDEVGRU 2.
