SEAWOLF PARK
Home of the USS CAVALLA SS-244

Seawolf Park, Cavalla's home, is located on Pelican Island, just north of Galveston, Texas. Coming from Houston, take I-45 south to Galveston. After you cross the causeway, exit on Texas Road 275. Turn left under the overpass onto the Pelican Island Causeway.

Or if you continue on to the island, I-45 is renamed Broadway. Take a left on 51st Street and cross the bridge straight to the Pelican Island Causeway. Soon this small road becomes Seawolf Parkway. It leads to Seawolf Park.

Seawolf Park is the home of the USS Cavalla SSK-244 submarine and Destroyer Escort USS Stewart (DE-238),  there is a picnic area and excellent fishing. The park is open for fishing from sunrise to sunset Sunday through Thursday, and open all day and night Friday and Saturday, for fishing. The Cavalla and Stewart are open from 8 AM to an hour before sunset seven days a week for touring. Visitors can tour inside the boats from bow to stern, including the conning tower. The tour is usually self-paced, but on weekends it is not uncommon to have a guide available. Cameras are allowed. Come on out, y'all!
